Gracious it's been one busy month!!
We are getting caught back up after Marci's fabulous trip to Croacia and the Adriatic Sea - back to the sweatshop :)
We had a chance to check out the Shop Hop here in central Ohio and visit many new shops, picked up fabric along the way for a wall hanging and found some great ideas too.
We got our order from http://www.fulllinestencils.com/ LOVE IT!!
Megan finally finished a top that has been in the closet for about 15 years - she also quilted a satin back for a recycled fur turned baby blanket.
We got a new organization system for our orders thanks to http://www.containerstore.com/ - the baskets nest neatly when not in use, or stack on top when an order is being worked on.
We are currently making plans to move our shop to a designated space and out of our living rooms and basements. Hopefully by next Spring we will be in a space of our own and the houses will be back to normal!
Megan's daughter is getting her schedule finalized for college, and the twins start 1st grade in 2 weeks.

Over the years that we have lived in our neighborhood, we have recruited family and friends to move in also. And of course we have a great time - one of the pranks we pulled recently was putting a flock of Pink Flamingos in my sister's yard for her husband one night. Since then, the flock has started to migrate some - 2 have wandered to one neighbor, 6 to another. To the point that many have stopped to ask what the deal is, or even how they can get some. And one house that recently went up for sale got their own to put up by their sale sign. I have a perfect daily view of the 6 across the street. This couple has taken great joy in moving theirs around the yard, sometimes in a group on the corner, for awhile all standing around the flower bed and today they are in a line going through the yard. I went shopping yesterday. Not grocery shopping, not necessary the-shoes-are-too-small-again shopping, not the-sump-pump-went-out-during-monsoon-season shopping – I mean pure impulse shopping. I saw the cutest 4th of July tank top in a window, read if you spent $50 you got it for $5, got inside to find if you bought 2 dresses (including the 50% off ones) that you got $10 off….and well, 2 new dressese, a bracelet and tank top later – I’m in need of a date night! My husband LOVES dresses, which of course made the fall of the wagon that much shorter. I wore one when I got home and am saving the other for the actual date, which will be soon I hope – gotta get that sitter lined up. The dress I decided to wear first is a simple cotton sundress with a large blue and white flower print, think I can add red flip flops and a hat to make it one of my 4^th of July outfits, since I also have to fit the tank in sometime. So our oldest has graduated! The party is over, the mess picked up, new messes back in swing, Dr appts, work, swimming, VBS, thunderstorms, tons of orders, get them shipped, vacation, bank takes a double payment for some unknown reason, work, getting ready for college, more grad parties, a funeral, tooth extraction needed, cousin coming to visit, planning neighborhood cookout, fix the dog fence, rinse the mud from the kids, put the toads back in the garden, hide the farting putty for a bit....everyday seems like a whirlwind when we sit back and look at it. Always something going on. Thankfully, unlike real whirlwinds, this one is full of life, fun and adventure. Never have to worry about being bored. Was lost but now is found

My oldest daughter and I were out in March and picked up these ridiculous rings - that's the only thing to call them. They are big and blingy, fun and fabulous - ridiculous! We had such a good time picking them out, that while the monetary value of them is like five bucks, the sentimental time together was priceless. Then, mine went missing - I was heart broken! I sent out an APB to all my friends, hoping someone had seen it. And today it came back!! I am soo happy! and to celebrate our color of the day is AQUA! to match the stones on my ring that came home! So this juggling is not going all that well. Between graduation plans, house remodeling, custom orders and just life, something always gets dropped. The blog being one of those at the moment, but not forgotten. Today my kids have late start for school, thankfully the last one of the year. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month they go in 2 hours late, to give the teachers some time to regroup, but I nearly always forget what day it is, end up in a panic that my oldest is late for school, to have her annoyingly remind me that it's late start, then I remember that the younger 2 need to eat breakfast at home today as they are late going in, etc - so, as I'm considering the options to feed them this morning, I came across our color of the day - OATMEAL. I've been trying to clean out some things as we are doing this rehab, and in a drawer is a little black dress I got a couple years ago to surprise my husband with a "hot date" out. Growing up I was always interested in bugs, not that I wanted them crawling on me, but worms, frogs, snakes, caterpillars, etc didn't bother me in the least. I have a picture of me at a petting zoo hanging with the giant boa for hours. My brother-in-laws previous pet snake was my favorite to take to the pool in the summer to ward off unwanted males :) Fortunately my girls have carried on that interest and we have great fun in the spring when everything starts coming back out. Yesterday our neighbor showed up with a surprise - the first toad of the season - we were thrilled, hubby not so much though. Funny how fast weekends go - and with a record breaking high yesterday, it nearly felt like summer, making it nearly impossible to stay inside to get those projects done, but outside work was wonderful. I think I mentioned we have some rehab work going on at our house. It's going along very nicely, have had many friends helping and lots of laughs. The drywall is hung, ready to tape, mud, sand etc. And the hot debate has been about the flooring. We have had the same grass green carpet in that room since we moved in over 7 years ago and pretty sure if may be pushing 30 years old. We all agree it needs to go, but what to put back down is where things have been entertaining. In the midst of it all, a friend appears with a carpet sample that we both agree is a reasonable if not only temporary solution. This carpet comes in 3 foot squares, is high traffic, snaps together and can be replaced if damaged, etc - perfect solution and cost effective at this point as the original job was canceled and we can get it for very cheep. Our green room will now have to be called the PEPPER room. Mostly black, with hints of white, grey and almost a touch of bluish thrown in. So, that's our color of the day - PEPPER. We love to read! Books have always been a soft spot for me and our kids have piles upon piles of books all around the house. Dancing with the Daffodils

I am knee deep in many messes. It was spring break for the kids, which brings its own wake of changes to schedules and more trash. The sewing table is piled with orders that are a little behind, but around the table is also the furniture stuffed in here due to the remodeling happening in the other room. So it's taking some creativity just to get anything done, like closing the curtains at night. It's always easy to be focused on the hustle going on that must be done, so while out with the dogs yesterday a very cheerful, long missed friend caught my eye - a lone DAFFODIL. So the groundhog clearly lied this year about spring coming early and we are looking at a couple more weeks of below normal temps, but the plants don't seem to tune into the local weather station. While the Greek root of IRIS may be rainbow, the color that most often comes to mind when these flowers bloom is purple. Both twins were able to go back to school today, still on meds for another week, but they are super excited and I'm sure the teacher will have her hands full with their energy alone and add to that it's their birthday week. As we were waiting for the bus 15 minutes earlier than normal, they were just that excited, I noticed our cherry trees are in bloom. We planted 2 about 3 years ago, they have weathered an incredible amount for wind and animals, and we are hoping this is the year they have fruit (that the birds will probably get all of) but it's fun to watch. Yesterday I noticed my birdfeeder is finally empty. I was wandering outside yesterday doing various cleaning projects inside and out, when I noticed that our forsythia is budding, and I know from my weather man that there are 3 frosts after that til the cold weather is banned til fall - and I was sooo super excited, especially seeing as it frosted the night before, that means only 2 more times and my toes may start to have feeling again after this long winter. Growing up my parents were coffee consumers, cups or pots a day - I LOVED the smell of coffee. But when it came around to tasting it - I could think of 100 other things I'd rather have. I just hosted a jewelry party for my neighbor who is starting a new business with Lia Sophia, and as I have been pouring over the pages of all the wonderful goodies I will be getting for free or really cheep, I got to thinking about PEWTER. It's a great metal and after doing a little snooping, found it is the 4th most precious metal in the world. I've often wondered what the correct spelling was for our color of the day GREY or GRAY, but after digging around a bit, I can be quite comforted by the fact that both are perfectly right. If you lean more US English then you will probably use gray, if you are more UK English then it would be grey - regardless it is a wonderful feature for our color of the day. When doing some reading, I came across an intresting fact: today in 1900 - Dwight F. Davis put up a new tennis trophy to go to the winner in matches against England.
